NHS Therapy Twitter Account.

I’ve always found NHS social media to be a bit stuffy and sad. I was brimming with ideas and as well as showing a caring approach (it’d be a completely wrong take if it wasn’t caring), this needed to be fun.

So I proposed, created and ran (in my own time), a Twitter account for the community therapy team at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust (@midyorkstherapy) from 2018-2019.

Somehow, I still managed to fulfil my actual job as a Physiotherapist. I even moonlight as one now. You can check here to prove I’m registered.

The aim was to raise the profile of the service, and it certainly did that. The senior leadership within the Trust gave me free rein, following a pitch to the official communications team.

I also had a crack at being a creative director for 2 national celebrations of our allied healthcare professionals (AHPs).

Thanks go the staff who reluctantly volunteered to be filmed, but ended with laughter and satisfaction after taking part.

Here are the posts…
